“Your eyes are too pure to look on evil” (Habakkuk 1:13).
The contrast between our sinfulness and God’s holiness is an absolute contrast – never the two shall meet.
Can we raise ourselves up from our sinfulness to God’s holiness? –
No! We cannot. We need to be raised up from above, by the Lord. We
cannot do it for ourselves. He must do it for us. Salvation doesn’t come
from ourselves. It comes from Him. He gives it to us.
The gift of forgiveness comes to us through Jesus Christ who took our
sin upon Himself so that we might become the righteousness of God in
Him (2 Corinthians 5:21).
“Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift!” (2 Corinthians 9:15).
